Ima keep this brief. The Night Manager is everything a spy thriller should be, a brilliant suspenseful plot, exciting action sequences, and excellent acting. Tom Hiddleston is a known quantity of course [spoiler1]. Olivia Coleman is brilliant, of course. Diego Calva (little known to me, but I don’t know show biz well) is brilliant as a young Columbian gang-lord. He radiates menace. I was also pleased to be able to attach a face to the name Indira Varma, whose voice I know well as the main female narrator of Terry Pratchett’s Discword audiobooks.
Season 2 is a mere seven one-hour episodes. The last one is a banger. I am left in little doubt that another season will be forthcoming.
As is Hugh Laurie—my title “He’s Back,” refers to him as well as Hiddleston.
