In Terry Pratchett's novel Thud! (#34 in his Discworld series) Sam Vimes reads a picture book called Where's My Cow? to his son, Young Sam. He manages to get home at 6:00 every evening to read Where's My Cow?, Because Some Things Are Important.
This book, Where's My Cow? (#34.5 in the Goodreads Discworld listing) is a picture book, but it is not THAT picture book. It is not the book Sam reads to Young Sam. It does contain most of that book.
Where's My Cow? is a picture book that tells a story about Sam reading the fictional picture book Where's My Cow? to Young Sam. It's a fun little story that'll amuse anyone who's ever had a parent read a picture book to them.
I didn't love it. You could argue that's my fault. I simply didn't like the way Sam Vimes and young Sam were imagined. This, of course, is a hazard faced by any artist who draws illustrations of a familiar property of long standing.
You may love it!
